# install-wazuh-ubuntu

Companion files for the lesson **Install Wazuh on Ubuntu Step by Step**:
<https://maheshtata.com/wazuh/install-wazuh-ubuntu/>

Tested against: Wazuh 5.0 (beta5 documentation, September 2026), Ubuntu 24.04.

| File | What it is |
|---|---|
| `post-install-checklist.md` | The checklist from the lesson, in a form you can paste into a ticket. |
| `ufw-rules.sh` | A `ufw` starting point for an all-in-one host. Edit the source ranges before running. |
| `remote-bind-addr.xml` | The `<remote>` block fragment that makes the agent listener reachable off the host. |

## Notes

- Wazuh 5.0 is in beta. The version numbers in the install commands (`5.0.0-beta5`) and the
  `-d pre-release` flag both change at general availability.
- `remote-bind-addr.xml` is a fragment, not a complete configuration file. Merge it into the
  existing `<remote>` section of `/var/wazuh-manager/etc/wazuh-manager.conf`. The manager treats
  an unknown element in that file as a startup error, so do not paste it in as a new top-level block.
- Nothing here should be applied to a production estate without a change record and a snapshot.
